Help Us Celebrate Sunshine Haven!
It is our pleasure to announce Jim Tipton as the Sunshine Haven 2026 Angels Among Us recipient. He will be officially honored at our Annual Gala to be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at the Brownsville Events Center. Jim’s family started their automotive business in Brownsville in 1923, and Jim continued the remarkable legacy of community involvement and civic activities. The Tipton name has been well known for over a century, as generations carry on this dedication and tradition. You may know Jim through Tipton Motors, or through his involvement with numerous organizations he has lent his support to since returning to Brownsville after graduating from Texas A&M. He has served as chairman of the board for the Brownsville Chamber of Commerce, Brownsville Rotary Club, Brownsville Economic Development Council, the Episcopal Day School and Valley Regional Medical Center, among others, and has worked with many more organizations in various capacities. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Jim and the Tipton Family for their many years of support. Please join us in congratulating Jim Tipton, the 2026 Angels Among Us honoree. Sunshine Haven is hosting its annual Angels Among Us Gala. This event is the organizations signature fundraiser for the year. It offers delicious dinner from top chefs, casino games with prizes, open bar, live entertainment, and a silent auction. During the gala the Board of Directors recognize an individual from the community who over the years has been instrumental in helping support the organization.
